Del Rey Oaks Election: Three Candidates Seek Two Council Seats; Mayor Unopposed

DEL REY OAKS, Monterey County — October 26, 2026. Voters in Del Rey Oaks face a competitive city council race November 3, even though the mayoral race is uncontested. Three candidates — incumbent Jeremy Hallock, civil engineer Cheryl Parker and community volunteer Shelley Cabanillas — are competing for two four-year seats. Mayor Scott Donaldson is the only candidate for mayor.

Topics discussed in local coverage include maintenance of the regional FORTAG trail, financial sustainability, upgrades to South Boundary Road and the reuse of former Fort Ord land. Candidate campaign statements are their own positions, not findings endorsed by California58. Voters should review the official county sample ballot for names and vote-by-mail information. Results cannot be treated as final before the county completes canvassing and certification.
