DEL REY OAKS, Monterey County — October 26, 2026. Del Rey Oaks City Council adopted the Monterey County Regional Vision Zero Safety Action Plan for the community in September 2026. The city joined regional efforts to reduce deaths and serious injuries on roadways while preparing to pursue available Safe Streets and Roads for All and other transportation funding.

The adoption allows officials to use a recognized regional plan to identify priorities and seek grants. It is not an award for a specific intersection, an announcement that all streets have been reconstructed or a new citywide speed limit. Residents concerned about crossing safety can monitor the city public safety committee and Transportation Agency for Monterey County for project rankings, funding decisions and opportunities to comment.
